Jamaica born <span style="font-weight: bold">Stacey McKenzie</span> is a true inspiration for those who are told “they don’t fit the mold” . Despite her “non traditional” (as dem put it) look, she is signed with Elite model management and has worked for top designers including Jean Paul Gaultier, Benetton, Alexander McQueen, Tommy Hilfiger and Calvin Klien etc etc

Here is an excerpt from her book...

<span style="color: #000066"><span style="font-style: italic">I am so grateful for the opportunities I had in life. I had a dream and I pursued it with full force. Growing up, I was teased and taunted by a lot of people. Some were strangers, friends, and even family members but for some reason, even at that young age, amongst all the negativity – I felt I had something special. I did not know at the time what it was but I knew I was getting a lot of attention and I could take that and turn it into whatever I wanted. Don’t get me wrong, all the criticisms hurt like hell growing up and still do! I decided however that I was not going to let it get to me! I have my destiny in my hands; I can do anything I want in life if I put my mind to it and work hard for it.</span></span>

I don't find her or her voice pretty. But I gotta give her props for working with what she's got.

I think she has learned to accept that she is not going to viewed as being pretty. But like yuh sey ..to me I am impressed that she didn’t let that stop her from modeling. An industry and profession often associated with beauty.

Ah tell yuh ...sometimes the forces that try to drag you down and make you feel inferior are the same forces that drive you to success

And she surely does not shy away from cameras..

I think she is a model (no pun intended) of how people need to accept who they are…
Dem have a saying that there are always going to be more critics than fans

Her face looks different on almost every pic. On these two, she resembles Naomi Campbell to me.

I think everybody is like that ..spread out 5 or so pics of yourself and you look a little diff in most. Camera angle, makeup, lighting, resolution all play a factor.

Wendy, you don't see it around the eyes and the shape of the faces. Ignoring the complexions and hairstyles, you don't see the resemblance?
